With the surge of AI and its strong applications in software, the latest LLM models such as ChatGPT, Claude, and DeepSeek can now produce large amounts of code. Coding agents such as Codex, Claude and OpenCode can utilize skills, MCP servers and other utilities to plan, design and develop software. While this means that more software can be produced faster, it also means that the value of software is gradually decreasing. It is no surprise that in the tech space, software is no longer considered a moat. This means now that the value of hardware will skyrocket as a result of the complexity in design, development and distribution involved, all of which are higher in hardware than in software. This has pushed me out of my comfort zone to develop my expertise past software by moving into hardware in a way that would allow me combine my knowledge in both.
I will continue to develop my skills in software while paying attention to hardware. I will work with the Arduino Uno development board. No knowledge will be wasted as these projects will intersect. I intend to make further posts on what I have learnt in the process. Think of these as tips and tricks. Until then...
